I have been wanting to go to Bangkok for years, but didn’t get to go until last week. It was pre-planned a few months ago and I am glad that I get to go there finally.

All I could think of was shopping, shopping and shopping!

I walked to all the nearby markets and all the major shopping malls. MBK, Platinum, Siam Paragon, and didn’t want to miss Chatuchak.

Did some sight seeing though. Ayutthaya temples were a disappointment, floating market was pathetic, but Chatuchak was EXCITEMENT!

I only went for street food and ate twice at the food court cause I happened to be at the shopping malls. Restaurants are a no no for me.

And I love mieng kam. Had it before in KL but quite expensive. In Thailand, I had it on the street and even ordered room service! The best part was..it’s not fattening!!! Well..except for the peanuts!! I could have it as a meal and nothing else!

Only had 1 massage which was after my 8 hrs walk in Chatuchak. Other than that, I just walked and walked to look for food and clothes.

Some of our friends have bought a few properties for investment purposes. I am interested too, but it has to be within my budget. It seems that the properties are booming especially landed properties, but according to my other friend who is in the real estate business, he said to wait for another 6 months. The use of high speed hand dryers in the shopping malls’ public washrooms is more popular than before. I prefer this than the old fashioned ones as it is faster to dry our hands. Besides, children can reach the high speed hand dryers too. I read in an email once, that it is not hygiene to use hand dryers in the public washrooms as there are bacteria in it. Don’t know how logic it is, but I will usually use toilet paper or tissue to dry my hands instead. Do you use hand dryers in the shopping malls?

Since we have replaced most of our house doors, I am thinking of replacing the door locks to Schlage locks. We are still using the existing locks but it has been many years already and it is time to change to new locks. Besides, I thought of adding another good locks to our main door, just to be safe. Times are bad and those kid snatching, kidnapping, and burglary frightens me.

As some of you know, I am very serious about my current diet. I always said that I want to go on diet but never did. The food is always tempting me. But this time, I am very persistent. Let’s see how long I can last. It has been a week of dieting and I have lost only 1kg. I hope to lose another 2kg more. I am thinking for buying some detox drink as well. It will definitely help with my weight loss. Perhaps I will get less pimples on my face too. There are many kind of detox, but I will go for the normal detox. Not that I need opiate detox or others. I don’t need to go to a rehab centre.

Hubby smokes cigars. The other day at a friend’s house, the men were talking about alcohol and cigars. But hubby doesn’t smoke everyday. Only on certain occasion. If there is a gathering or outing, then he will take out his cigars. His favorite are David Doff and bundled cigars. I wonder if he has tried cohiba cigars or not. But cigars are not cheap. It can be very pricely, so ahem.. better smoke less. But it is definitely healthier than cigarettes.

Before I bought my new notebook, I was deciding if I should get a desktop instead. After much consideration, I decided to go for a notebook. My workstation is not big enough for a desktop. I wanted a big lcd monitor, but I didn’t want to get a new workstation as it is unnecessary. So here I am again, using my new notebook and the old one belongs to my kids. They can now have their own machine to play their games.

I bought a bow tie for my son before. It was supposed to be worn during my brother’s wedding but because I didn’t get him a 3 piece suit, the bow tie was left aside. Instead I bought him other clothes to wear. bow ties are usually  worn with suits, but I only have one sibling, so I didn’t get my son to wear it. He will grow up fast and I don’t know when is the next wedding I am going to bring him along, so I thought I better not spend on such expensive children suit.

I still remember clearly what happened to my brother when he was only a few months old. Mom said I was throwing tantrums on the noodle she prepared for me, so she went to prepare another for me. Without thinking, mom pt my then baby brother on a high chair which happened to be next to a pot of boiled water. Little brother was quick, he grabbed the hot water and it somehow spilt on him. It was a havoc. I remember mom carrying my brother to the car and wanting to go to the hospital. Our neighbor came over to help and sent us there. It was a bad burn, and I believe those days, the hospital’s medical supplies were not as good as now. Luckily, it didn’t burn his face. Only some on his chest and more on his thigh. He still shows me his thigh to this day to make me feel guilty.
